

Green Growth Summit 2026: Telangana Strengthens Canada Investment Ties
As Telangana accelerates its efforts to attract global investments and position itself as a leader in sustainable development, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a series of high-level meetings with international delegates and Canada's High Commissioner to India, Christopher Cooter , during the Green Growth Economic Summit 2026 . The discussions focused on expanding international partnerships in clean technology, infrastructure, innovation and higher education, reflecting the state's long-term vision for green and inclusive economic growth.
The meetings took place at the Bodhi Pavilion in the MCR HRD Institute , where policymakers, investors and global experts deliberated on opportunities in green infrastructure , artificial intelligence (AI) , governance, urban planning and future-focused investments. Representatives from several countries participated in the summit, including Dr. M. Saravanan , Nili Gilbert , Mahesh Konduru , Amit Mehra , Dilek Ayhan , Thomas Prolick , Senthil Thondaman , along with members of Meridian Collective and senior Telangana government officials.
In a separate interaction, Christopher Cooter discussed ways to strengthen Canada–Telangana cooperation in trade, investment, innovation, education and sustainable development. Revanth Reddy highlighted some of the state's flagship initiatives, including the Musi Riverfront Development Project , the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion , and the proposed Future City , inviting Canadian companies to bring technology, expertise and investments to these transformative projects.
The Chief Minister also underlined Telangana's emergence as a major destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) , driven by its strengths in information technology , life sciences , defence and aerospace . He said Hyderabad has evolved into a preferred base for several Fortune 500 companies , supported by skilled talent, robust infrastructure and investor-friendly governance. Describing the Musi River rejuvenation as a landmark urban renewal initiative, he said the project aims to combine ecological restoration with sustainable economic development and improved urban infrastructure.
Seeking deeper academic collaboration, Revanth Reddy proposed the establishment of a multi-university campus in Hyderabad by leading Canadian universities. He also invited Canadian businesses, educational institutions and investors to participate in the second edition of the Telangana Global Investors Summit , scheduled for December.
Praising Telangana's progressive policies and development-focused governance, Christopher Cooter said the state has emerged as one of India's most promising investment destinations. He noted that recent investments by Firan Technology Group , CIBC , and CPP Investments underscore growing Canadian confidence in Telangana's economy. Cooter announced that a Canadian trade delegation will soon visit the state to explore opportunities in energy , urban development , defence and aerospace , while formally inviting the Chief Minister to lead a high-level delegation to Canada to further strengthen bilateral economic and institutional ties.
