Former minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao has accused the Congress government of treating the sale of government land as its primary agenda, alleging that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is disposing of valuable public assets instead of protecting them.

Harish Rao said the previous BRS government had safeguarded public lands, while the present administration was selling properties belonging to the Housing Board, HMDA, TGIIC and universities, involving assets worth thousands of crores of rupees.

Raising the Manchirevula issue, he alleged that the compound wall of the Greyhounds complex was demolished in an attempt to facilitate the encroachment of government land worth approximately Rs 2,000 crore, allegedly in collusion with private individuals. He demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge if the government was serious about establishing the facts.

Questioning the Congress government's claims over the Miyapur land case, Harish Rao said the previous BRS administration had appointed senior advocate C.S. Vaidyanathan to represent the state in the Supreme Court, where he presented arguments on 86 occasions. He said the government had also strengthened its legal position through GO 45, which provided statutory backing to the Jagir Abolition Act, and fought cases concerning Dr Prasad's lands in the High Court and Supreme Court.

Of the 192 arguments presented in the case, the Congress government had contributed only 11, he claimed, accusing it of taking credit for the BRS government's efforts. He compared Revanth Reddy's conduct to someone claiming credit for a meal prepared by another person.

Meanwhile, BRS MLA Dr Sanjay accused the Chief Minister of misleading people through false statements, adding that his remarks had become a subject of ridicule even in neighbouring states.

Another BRS MLA, K.P. Vivekanand, alleged that agreements had already been reached with private parties for the sale of 550 acres in Miyapur, with advances collected. He claimed Revanth Reddy was waiting for the Supreme Court verdict to proceed with the sale. Questioning the government's priorities amid drought-related hardships, Vivekanand criticised the Chief Minister for announcing plans to sell the land instead of addressing public concerns.
