Harish Rao Questions Delay in Clearing Sada Bainama Land Records

Former minister and BRS MLA T. Harish Rao has accused the Telangana government of causing serious hardship to farmers by delaying the completion of Sada Bainama land regularisation, despite collecting substantial fees from applicants.

In a post on X on Wednesday, Harish Rao said farmers in the Makthal constituency were being made to run from one government office to another even after paying the required charges to regularise their land holdings.

According to him, farmers have paid between Rs 23,000 and Rs 26,000 per acre, but many are still waiting for their land details to be updated in official online records. While applicants have reportedly received 13-B certificates, the process has not moved forward due to what officials describe as technical problems with the Bhu Bharati portal.

Harish Rao said the absence of updated online records and land passbooks was creating wider problems for farmers. Many were being forced to make repeated visits to MRO and RDO offices without receiving clear information about when their applications would be completed, he alleged.

The delays are also affecting farmers' access to key government support schemes. Without their names appearing in official land records or receiving passbooks, eligible farmers may face difficulties in obtaining benefits such as Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima, he said. He further claimed that some farmers were encountering problems while purchasing fertilisers and even while selling their agricultural produce.

Questioning the Congress government, Harish Rao said fees had reportedly been collected from around 62,000 farmers seeking Sada Bainama regularisation, yet many of their land records remained unresolved.

He criticised the government for failing to streamline the land-record system after replacing Dharani with Bhu Bharati, alleging that the new process had instead added to the confusion faced by farmers.

Calling for immediate action, the BRS leader demanded that the government resolve the technical issues affecting the Bhu Bharati portal and clear all pending applications on a war footing. He also sought the prompt issuance of passbooks to farmers who had completed the regularisation process.

Harish Rao further demanded that farmers who missed out on welfare benefits because of delays in receiving their passbooks should not be denied Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima and other eligible assistance. He said the BRS would continue its fight until farmers' land rights were fully protected.
