Hero And Heroine Were Siblings: Kamakshi Reveals Original Twist In Allari Naresh’s '12A Railway Colony'

Allari Naresh’s 12A Railway Colony may have failed to connect with audiences, but a new revelation from Kamakshi Bhaskarla has brought the film back into the spotlight. The actress has revealed that the movie originally had a very different story and a major climax twist, with the lead pair initially written as siblings.

Released on November 21, 2025, 12A Railway Colony was presented as a dark horror thriller. The film starred Allari Naresh and Kamakshi Bhaskarla, with Dr Anil Vishwanath, known for the Polimera franchise, providing the story, screenplay and dialogues. Nani Kasaragadda made his directorial debut with the film and also handled the editing. Srinivasaa Chitturi produced it under Srinivasaa Silver Screen, while Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music.

The story follows Karthik, played by Naresh, who falls for his neighbour Aaradhana, played by Kamakshi. What begins as a simple love story soon turns into a mystery involving murders, hidden truths and unexpected twists. Sai Kumar plays police officer Rana Pratap, while the cast also includes Viva Harsha, Getup Srinu, Anish Kuruvilla, Saddam, Jeevan Kumar and Madhumani.

During the promotions of Agadha, Kamakshi revealed just how much the original version changed during production. According to her, Karthik and Aaradhana were initially supposed to be siblings, and their relationship was meant to become the film’s biggest revelation.

“The movie happens from Sai Kumar garu’s point of view. He discovers the truth about the lead pair,” Kamakshi said. She added that there was a dialogue suggesting that the hero would have died after learning the truth.

However, that version never reached the audience.

Kamakshi said the hero and heroine were originally shown falling in love without knowing that they were siblings. The actress revealed that major changes were later made to the screenplay, changing the character arcs and the way the story unfolded.

“Whatever we have written is not what people saw. Something else is there in the film,” she said.

She also revealed that there were no songs in the original script. The characterisations and character graphs were different, but the story kept changing as more people became involved in the filmmaking process.

The actress said she could not openly discuss all these changes during the film’s promotions. She also pointed to the changing tastes of audiences, saying viewers are increasingly willing to accept bold and authentic stories instead of safe choices.

Interestingly, Kamakshi said many people were initially reluctant to play the sister role. She eventually decided to take it up herself. But after the changes made during production, she felt the film lost some of the authenticity that was present in the original story.

“Many didn’t want to play the sister role. So, I came forward. But the movie turned out to be something else. We lost out on authenticity,” she said.

Her comments offer a new perspective on a film that received mixed to negative reviews after its release. Critics largely felt that the promising premise was weakened by an uneven screenplay, lack of logic and confused execution.
