Historic Gold for India as Ariha Pangambam Rules Aerobic Gymnastics in Asia

Ariha Pangambam etched her name into Indian sporting history by becoming the first Indian gymnast to win a gold medal in the senior women's individual event at the Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships, marking a landmark achievement for the country's growing gymnastics programme.

The talented athlete produced an outstanding performance in the final to finish at the top of the continental standings with a winning score of 19.100, securing India's maiden gold in the prestigious event and reinforcing the nation's steady rise in international gymnastics.

Ariha impressed judges across all three scoring categories. She received 8.650 points for artistry, reflecting the elegance and creativity of her routine, while earning 7.600 for execution, highlighting her precision and technical excellence. She also collected 2.850 points for difficulty, successfully combining complex elements with flawless presentation to clinch the coveted title.

Congratulating the champion, Gymnastics Federation of India president Sudhir Mital praised both the athlete and her support team for the remarkable feat.
