HMDA Sanctions Rs. 7.40 Crore for Railapur–Gowdavelli Bridge
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has sanctioned Rs. 7.40 crore for the construction of a new bridge between Railapur and Gowdavelli in Medchal–Malkajgiri district, a move expected to ease long-standing transportation difficulties in the area.
Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender announced the development on his X account, crediting his efforts for securing the funds for the project.
The proposed bridge is expected to improve connectivity between the two localities and provide relief to residents who have been facing traffic and transportation problems for several years. Once completed, it will make daily commuting easier for students travelling to schools, office-goers and other regular road users.
The project is also expected to improve traffic movement and support development in the surrounding areas by strengthening local transport infrastructure. Better connectivity could make everyday travel more convenient for residents and reduce difficulties along the route.
In a related development, HMDA recently sanctioned Rs. 6 crore for road-widening works from Medchal RUB (Road Under Bridge) to Railapur village. The proposed bridge and road-widening projects are expected to complement each other in improving transport facilities across the region.
The allocation for the bridge, along with the funds earmarked for road expansion, marks a step towards addressing local infrastructure needs in Medchal–Malkajgiri district. The projects are expected to benefit commuters and residents by improving road access and facilitating smoother movement between nearby localities.
