Horror on Highway: Three Lives Lost in Nandyal District Mishap

Three members of a family were killed in a tragic road accident near Done in Nandyal district on Friday afternoon after a crane travelling on the wrong side of the highway crashed into their car.

The family, residents of Karnataka, were travelling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad when the accident occurred around 1:40 pm near Jagaduti village in Done mandal. Pramod was driving the car, accompanied by his wife and their two young children, when the heavy vehicle allegedly veered into their lane and rammed into them head-on.

The impact was devastating , leaving the front portion of the car completely mangled. Pramod’s wife and the two children suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot, turning a routine journey into an unimaginable tragedy.

Pramod sustained critical injuries in the crash. Police officials rushed to the scene and, with the help of locals, pulled him out of the wreckage before shifting him in a 108 ambulance to the government hospital in Done. Doctors said his condition remains critical.

Preliminary investigation suggests that wrong-side driving by the crane operator may have caused the collision. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination and a case has been registered.

Officials said traffic violations by heavy vehicles continue to result in such fatal highway accidents , urging motorists to strictly follow road safety rules and remain vigilant while travelling.
