I Literally Couldn’t Step Out Of The House: Radhika Apte On Intimate Clip Leak

Radhika Apte has opened up about one of the most difficult experiences of her career, recalling how an intimate clip from one of her films was leaked and left her unable to step out of her home for four days. The actress said the incident became even more distressing when she realised that people around her had also seen the clip.

Speaking to India Today about the challenges actors face around intimate scenes, Radhika said the situation became deeply personal once the footage was leaked. “We were talking about being able to do intimate scenes, but once something I had done was leaked, I literally couldn’t step out of the house for four days,” she recalled.

Radhika explained that the biggest difficulty was how quickly the incident entered her personal space. “The problem is that it can come home very quickly,” she said, adding that she feared someone could turn up at her home after seeing the clip.

The actress also recalled learning that her stylist’s driver and her watchman had seen the leaked material. According to Radhika, her stylist told her that the driver repeatedly watched the clip and even asked whether she was going to Radhika’s house. “My watchman had seen it as well. Things like that started happening, and it became very difficult to deal with,” she said.

The experience also left Radhika concerned about her safety because she was living alone at the time. She eventually called her driver and spot dada and told them about the leak, asking whether they had seen it and whether they would be willing to protect her if necessary.

Radhika said she was “really scared” and made it clear that she needed people around her whom she could trust. Her driver and spot dada assured her that they would look after her.

The actress’s recollection highlights how the unauthorised circulation of intimate footage can affect an actor far beyond professional scrutiny, extending into their privacy, personal safety and everyday life.
