I Was Looking For A Story That Showed Telangana: Nagarjuna On Pallaburusu

Akkineni Nagarjuna has revealed the reason behind his decision to support Pallaburusu, an upcoming Telugu family drama rooted in rural Telangana. The film, presented by Nagarjuna and backed by Annapurna Studios and EPIC Studios, is set to hit theatres worldwide on August 14.

Speaking at the film’s pre release event, Nagarjuna said that he had acted in and produced several films that reflected Andhra culture during his career. He then felt that Telangana also deserved a story that showed its culture, people and way of life on screen.

Nagarjuna revealed that the thought came to him after a conversation with Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka. The suggestion stayed with him, and he started waiting for a story that felt right. When he heard the script of Pallaburusu, he immediately felt that it was the film he had been looking for and decided to support it.

The film is written and directed by Uday Chauhan and features Sudhakar Reddy and Muralidhar Goud in key roles. Gomathy, Prajwal Yadma and Sujatha are also part of the cast. The story revolves around a father and son in rural Telangana, mixing family emotions with humour.

The film has already received attention through its teaser and trailer. The teaser introduced the rural setting and the unusual father son dynamic, while the trailer highlighted the emotional and funny side of their relationship. Naga Chaitanya unveiled the teaser, while Nagarjuna launched the trailer.

Pallaburusu is now heading for a theatrical release on August 14. The date is also special for the Akkineni family as it coincides with Annapurnamma’s birthday, adding another reason for the team to look forward to the release.
