I Won't Betray My Fans Anymore: Ravi Mohan Revokes Decision to Quit Acting Amid Divorce
Tamil star Ravi Mohan has finally given fans the news they were waiting to hear. Months after breaking down publicly and announcing that he would step away from films to deal with his turbulent personal life, the actor has officially withdrawn his decision to quit cinema , promising that he will return stronger than ever.
Speaking at the JFW Achievers Awards in Chennai, the actor delivered one of the most emotional speeches of the evening, admitting that his earlier announcement had hurt fans and the film fraternity more than he had imagined. His heartfelt words were met with thunderous applause, with many in attendance visibly moved by his honesty.
"I am turning 46 this year. Twenty-three years, half my life, has been spent in the cinema. It's a pity that a small mistake of mine has hurt you all so much. Personal life and professional life are both 50-50 for me, but the emotions in personal life became a bit more," Ravi said.
The actor had stunned the industry in May when he held an emotional press conference at his residence, where he tearfully revealed that he would not face the camera or release his completed films until he had sorted out his personal life. The announcement came amid his ongoing divorce proceedings with Aarti Ravi and after reports of his separation from singer and spiritual therapist Keneeshaa Francis , triggering widespread concern among fans.
However, Ravi revealed that it was the unwavering support from filmmakers, colleagues and well-wishers that convinced him to rethink his decision.
"I was a bit emotional, but everyone in the industry came up to me and said, 'We'll accept anything you say. But you must never say you're not part of cinema again.' I apologise to all of them. I also won't betray my fans anymore. I'll definitely come back. Your happiness, your kindness and your generosity have given me the strength to return," he said. He even hinted that audiences would soon see him back through projects like Karathey Babu and other upcoming films.
Ravi also reflected on an unexpected positive outcome from his difficult phase, saying his public breakdown encouraged conversations around mental health , with many people reaching out to share their own struggles.
"I think something good came out of this. Many have started talking about mental health. Many who could relate contacted me, which makes me happy. If I am standing here smiling today, it is only because of my fans. With your blessings, my new life continues, " he added.
On the professional front, Ravi's comeback slate is already generating excitement. Besides Karathey Babu , the actor is also part of Benz , a film starring Raghava Lawrence , and Genie , ensuring that his return to the silver screen will be anything but quiet. After months dominated by headlines about his personal life, Ravi Mohan has now shifted the spotlight back to what he loves most—cinema.
