
IAF Agniveer Recruitment Drive at Nagarjuna University Begins March 9
Thousands of youth from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will soon have an opportunity to enter military service as the Indian Air Force conducts an Agniveer Vayu Open Recruitment Rally at Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur from March 9 . Announcing the arrangements, Joint Collector Ashutosh Srivastava said eligible male and female candidates can participate directly without prior registration. The recruitment drive is part of the Agnipath scheme , which offers selected candidates a four-year tenure combining military training, professional exposure, financial benefits and future career support. According to Wing Commander Sheikh Yakoob Ali, candidates must report between 6:00 am and 10:00 am on designated dates March 9–10 for female candidates from both states, March 12–13 for male candidates from Andhra Pradesh, and March 15–16 for male candidates from Telangana.
Applicants must be born between July 2, 2005, and January 2, 2009, and only unmarried candidates are eligible. Educational qualifications include Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50 percent marks and a minimum of 50 percent in English , while those with a three-year engineering diploma or two-year vocational course may also apply. The minimum height requirement is 152 cm . The selection process begins with a 1.6 km run followed by additional physical fitness tests. Candidates who qualify will take a written examination conducted in English and Hindi, with negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Shortlisted candidates will subsequently undergo adaptability and medical examinations before final selection.
Officials clarified that no advance online registration is required and candidates may report directly on their scheduled dates. Applicants must bring original educational certificates, Aadhaar card , residence proof, ten passport-size photographs and six sets of photocopies of all documents. District Revenue Officer Khajavali, DMHO Vijayalakshmi and other officials reviewed arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the rally. The recruitment drive is expected to attract large participation and offers a valuable pathway for youth seeking disciplined training, technical skills and an opportunity to serve the nation.
