IBM-Backed Quantum Innovation Hub Begins Operations in Amaravati

Andhra Pradesh's ambitious Quantum Valley project moved from planning to execution on Thursday with the commencement of operations at the Amaravati Quantum and Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre . Established in collaboration with IBM , the centre will connect industry, academia, and global experts to develop real-world applications in quantum computing and artificial intelligence while laying the foundation for the state's broader quantum ecosystem.

The launch marks a significant milestone in the government's efforts to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading destination for deep-tech innovation and advanced research. The centre's launch comes as Andhra Pradesh expands its role in India's emerging quantum technology landscape. Earlier this year, the state approved the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre (AQCC) and announced plans to host an IBM Quantum Innovation Centre , making it part of IBM's global quantum ecosystem. The broader Quantum Valley project, being developed with support from IBM and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) , is expected to host India's largest quantum computing infrastructure in the coming years.

The government has already established 380 Quantum Innovation Cells across engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh, bringing together more than 3,000 professors and students .
