
Imran Khan survives tough test, Gehani dominates at Snooker Classic
Imran Khan and Vishal Gehani delivered impressive performances to secure important victories in the main round of the CCI Snooker Classic in Mumbai on Sunday, producing a mix of resilience and precision on the green baize.
Imran Khan was pushed to the limit in a dramatic seven-frame contest against Tathya Sachdev before finally emerging victorious with a 4-3 win . The match turned into one of the most gripping encounters of the round, with both players trading frames and momentum throughout the contest.
Imran began strongly, taking the opening two frames with confident scoring and control . Sachdev, however, responded with determination, pulling himself back into the match and forcing the contest into a deciding seventh frame . Under pressure, Imran kept his composure and sealed the match 52-38 , completing a hard-fought victory .
Vishal Gehani, meanwhile, enjoyed a relatively smoother outing against Om Sawant . Displaying steady cue control and consistent scoring , Gehani secured a 4-2 win , dominating the early part of the match by taking the first three frames convincingly before Sawant briefly fought back.
Gehani quickly regained control and wrapped up the contest in the sixth frame, ensuring his progress in the tournament with a calm and composed performance .
Earlier, in the third round, Peter Paul also produced a notable display, compiling breaks of 80 and 63 to defeat Yash Trivedi 3-1 , underlining his strong form in the competition.
With players beginning to settle into rhythm, the CCI Snooker Classic is already witnessing closely contested matches and impressive cue work , promising more exciting battles in the rounds ahead.
