
India Highlights Atmanirbhar Bharat Defence Capabilities at WDS 2026 in Riyadh
Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) Shri Sanjay Seth will lead a high-level Indian delegation to the 3rd World Defence Show (WDS) 2026 , scheduled from February 8 to 12 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre , Saudi Arabia. The event, spanning five days , is expected to feature exhibitors from around 80 countries , including newcomers such as Japan, Finland, and Portugal, while the previous edition in 2024 hosted delegations from 116 countries.
India will mark its presence with the first-ever India Pavilion , covering 400 square meters , showcasing its growing indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities and technological prowess. These companies will display an array of advanced defence systems, including missiles, radars, artillery guns, armoured vehicles, and ammunition , highlighting technologies developed by DRDO-linked enterprises . These systems enhance India’s operational readiness , border and coastal security , and strategic deterrence , while showcasing the country’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat in defence .
On the sidelines of WDS 2026, RRM is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with his Saudi counterpart and interact with leading Saudi industry representatives, aiming to enhance defence cooperation and industrial collaboration .
The World Defence Show , a biennial international defence exhibition, serves as a strategic platform for countries to demonstrate technological advancements, foster partnerships, and explore defence exports. For India, this event is a critical opportunity to highlight its indigenization initiatives , demonstrate advanced defence capabilities , and strengthen global defence ties .
