India Post to launch 24-hour, 48-hour premium Speed Post across six cities

The Department of Posts will launch its new 24 Speed Post service today , promising next-day guaranteed delivery for urgent and time-sensitive consignments. The service will be inaugurated by Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia , Union Minister of Communications, along with Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani , Minister of State for Communications, at Rangbhawan Auditorium, Akashwani Bhawan, New Delhi at 12:30 PM.

In the first phase, 24 Speed Post will be available in six major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad . The service is designed to meet the growing demand for premium express delivery by offering D+1 next-day delivery, supported through dedicated processing windows and priority air transmission. Alongside the 24-hour service, the Department will continue offering 48 Speed Post with D+2 delivery timelines.

The new service comes with several modern features for enhanced convenience and security. These include OTP-based secure delivery , end-to-end tracking with SMS alerts , Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) facility for business customers, free pickup for bulk bookings , API integration , and centralized billing. The service also provides a money-back guarantee in case of delay, reflecting India Post’s commitment to reliable and efficient courier services.

This initiative marks a significant step in strengthening India Post’s premium delivery capabilities , offering customers a competitive option for urgent shipments within the country. Officials emphasized that the service will cater to both individual and business clients , enhancing speed, convenience, and transparency in postal operations.With the introduction of 24 Speed Post , India Post aims to compete effectively in the express logistics sector , ensuring faster deliveries while maintaining the trust and reliability that the postal network is known for.
