India continued its medal-winning run at the Asian Games 2026, adding crucial medals and producing several notable performances as the competition entered another intense phase. The latest results took India’s overall tally to 17 medals - one gold, seven silver and nine bronze, with the country placed 15th in the standings.

The biggest breakthrough came in rowing, where Satnam Singh and Salman Khan secured India’s maiden Asian Games medal in the men’s double sculls. The Indian pair clocked 6:13.25 to win bronze at the Nagaragawa International Regatta Course. China’s Yi Xudi and Yide Nie won gold in 6:09.37, while Uzbekistan’s Pavel Sorin and Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov took silver in 6:10.49. Balraj Panwar finished fourth in the men’s single sculls with 6:54.80, while India’s quadruple sculls crew finished fifth in 5:52.17.

In wushu, Roshibina Devi Naorem added another silver to India’s tally in the women’s 60kg sanda category. She lost 0-2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu, who won both rounds 5-0 and 10-0. Roshibina now has three Asian Games medals, following her silver at Hangzhou 2023 and bronze at Jakarta-Palembang 2018.

India’s shooting campaign remained inconsistent. The men’s 10m air pistol team of Kamaljeet, Aakash Bhardwaj and Kedarling Uchaganve finished fourth with 1,727 points, missing the final. Kamaljeet was ninth with 580, Bhardwaj 11th with 579 and Kedarling 35th with 568. China won gold with 1,743 points, ahead of Indonesia on inner-10 count, while Japan took bronze.

India also continued to strengthen its position in hockey and kabaddi. The men’s hockey team defeated South Korea 8-2, while the men’s kabaddi side beat Chinese Taipei 37-21.

In badminton, India secured a men’s team bronze after a 1-3 semifinal defeat to China. Defending champions Satwik and Chirag will now lead India’s individual campaign.

On September 25, India has medal opportunities across athletics, canoe sprint, shooting, squash, table tennis, weightlifting and kabaddi, with women’s kabaddi and men’s kabaddi both entering the semifinal stage.
