India Win 15 Medals Including Four Gold at World Archery Para Series Stage III

India produced a strong performance on home soil at the World Archery Para Series Stage III, signing off with 15 medals, including four gold, three silver and eight bronze, to finish second in the overall medal standings.

The Czech Republic topped the table with five gold medals, while China finished third with two gold, six silver and five bronze. The competition, which concluded on Wednesday, served as an important international test for India’s para archers ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games, scheduled from October 18 to 24.

Paralympic champion Harvinder Singh was among the key performers for the hosts. He teamed up with Vijay Sundi to claim gold in the para recurve men’s doubles before adding another top finish alongside Bhawna in the para recurve mixed team event on the final day.

India’s other gold medals came from Shyam Sunder Swami and Toman Kumar, who won the para compound men’s doubles title, and Sheetal Devi, who emerged victorious in the para compound women’s individual event. Sarita secured bronze in the same category.

The three silver medals were won by Bhawna and Pooja in para recurve women’s doubles, Tanvi Ingale in the visually impaired category, and Swati Chaudhary and Adil Mohammed Nazir Ansari in the W1 mixed team event.

India’s eight bronze medals reflected the depth of its campaign. Yugal Garg finished third in the visually impaired category, while Swati added bronze in the W1 women’s individual event. Sheetal and Toman also combined for bronze in the para compound mixed team competition.

Toman won another bronze in the para compound men’s individual event, while Bhawna completed a three-medal campaign with bronze in the para recurve women’s individual event.

Swati added a second medal by partnering Vasundhara Teotia for bronze in W1 women’s doubles. Adil completed his own double by teaming up with Vinayak Breed to take bronze in W1 men’s doubles.

The W1 category is designed for athletes with severe impairments affecting both the upper and lower limbs and the torso, making India’s strong showing particularly significant as the team builds momentum towards the Asian Para Games.
