Indian Army to Participate in Multinational Khaan Quest 2026 Exercise in Mongolia

An Indian Army contingent will participate in the 23rd edition of the multinational joint military exercise Khaan Quest 2026 , scheduled to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia , from June 20 to July 3 , the Army said on Wednesday.

The exercise will take place at the Five Hills Training Area and will bring together military personnel from several countries to enhance interoperability and cooperation in peace support operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter .

Sharing the announcement on social media platform X, the Indian Army said the exercise aims to strengthen operational readiness , facilitate professional exchanges and foster mutual trust and camaraderie among participating nations.

"An Indian Army contingent will participate in the 23rd edition of the Multinational Joint Military Exercise Khaan Quest 2026, being conducted at Five Hills Training Area, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 20 June to 03 July 2026," the Army said in its post.

According to officials, the two-week exercise is designed to improve coordination and collaboration among participating armed forces in multinational peacekeeping environments . The drills will focus on enhancing the ability of troops to operate together effectively during United Nations-mandated missions .

The Indian Army said participation in the exercise reaffirms India's commitment to global peacekeeping efforts and provides an opportunity to exchange best practices with partner nations.

Khaan Quest was launched in 2003 as a bilateral exercise between the armed forces of Mongolia and the United States . Since 2006 , it has evolved into a multinational peacekeeping exercise involving military contingents from countries across the world.
