Indian-Origin Man Fatally Stabbed in West London, Murder Probe Underway

A 26-year-old Indian-origin man was killed in a knife attack in west London, prompting an ongoing murder investigation and renewed concerns about community safety in the area.

The victim, identified as Gurbhej Singh , died after being stabbed on North Road near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane in Southall during the early hours of Wednesday. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics responded to the scene after being alerted by the London Ambulance Service. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, Singh was pronounced dead at the scene .

Another man in his 30s sustained injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. Police said he has since been discharged.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Command said homicide detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Singh's death. According to investigators, the assault is believed to have taken place outside a shop at around 12:30 a.m.

Police have appealed for witnesses and requested that anyone with CCTV footage from the area come forward. Authorities are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who were in the vicinity at the time of the attack but have not yet spoken to officers.

Seven men aged between their early 20s and late 30s were initially arrested on suspicion of murder. Following further inquiries, six have been released without further action , while one individual has been released on bail pending additional investigations.

The killing has drawn attention to concerns over violent crime and community safety in parts of London, particularly in neighbourhoods with large South Asian populations. Singh's family is being supported by specialist officers as the investigation continues.
