Indian Racing Festival Returns to Buddh International Circuit After 13 Years
The Indian Racing Festival will return to the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida after a 13-year gap, with the F4 Indian Championship and Indian Racing League (IRL) scheduled to take place on October 31 and November 1.
The event will mark the fourth round of the 2026 F4 Indian Championship and the second round of the Indian Racing League at the 5.125-km circuit, which previously hosted the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix and MotoGP Bharat.
The F4 championship battle has intensified following the third round at the Madras International Circuit, where Goa Aces JA Racing's Luviwe Sambudla strengthened his position at the top of the standings with 138 points.
Sambudla won the first two races in Chennai after starting from sixth on the grid before finishing third in the final race. He now holds a 21-point lead over Kichcha's Kings Bengaluru driver Aris Kyriakou, setting up an important contest at Buddh.
Speed Demons Delhi's Ntiyiso Mabunda also delivered a consistent performance in Chennai, finishing second in all three races. His opening-race result was particularly impressive, as he climbed from 10th on the grid to secure the runner-up position.
Meanwhile, Kolkata Royal Tigers' Aaron Mehta claimed victory in the third race after starting from pole position. He edged out Mabunda by just 0.546 seconds to secure the win.
At 15 years, six months and six days, Mehta became the youngest race winner in Indian F4 history, adding another milestone to an increasingly competitive season.
With Sambudla aiming to extend his championship advantage and his rivals looking to reduce the gap, the Buddh International Circuit round could prove decisive in shaping the title race.
The Indian Racing League will also return to action at the venue as teams and drivers continue their campaigns in the 2026 season. The two-day event is expected to provide another significant test for competitors as the Indian Racing Festival resumes racing at one of the country's most prominent motorsport venues.
