The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday declared a cash reward of Rs 131 crore for the entire Indian squad following their historic third ICC Men's T20 World Cup triumph .

The reward encompasses 15 players, the coaching team, and other support staff. Sources confirmed that the players will receive the lion’s share , while the coaching and support staff will receive smaller amounts according to a predefined hierarchy , where key players and the captain may get slightly more, coaches receive a moderate share, and other support staff are allotted smaller portions based on their roles. The total reward of ₹131 crore represents an increase of ₹6 crore compared to the ₹125 crore awarded to Rohit Sharma’s team in 2024.

In a statement, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia congratulated the players, support staff, and selectors for their “ historic achievement ” and wished them continued success in future tournaments.

India secured the prestigious trophy by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad , on Sunday. This win not only marked India's successful title defense but also made the team the first in tournament history to retain the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

With this victory, India also became the first team to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup three times , cementing its status among the most successful sides in the format’s history. The win reflects the team’s consistency, skill, and strategic brilliance, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, whose leadership has been widely praised for fostering a dynamic and cohesive squad.

The BCCI’s cash reward underlines its commitment to recognising excellence and celebrating cricketing milestones , reinforcing India’s continued dominance in global T20 cricket.
