Indiramma Housing Row: Danam Nagender Alleges Outsiders Got Khairatabad Quota

Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender has alleged serious irregularities in the Indiramma housing allocation process, claiming that deserving local residents were denied houses while people from outside the constituency found their way onto the beneficiary list.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Nagender accused Housing Board officials of mishandling the allocation process and expressed particular displeasure with the functioning of the Board’s Managing Director, Gautam. He said the officials’ conduct was damaging the image of the government.

According to the MLA, 480 Indiramma houses were expected to be allotted to the Khairatabad constituency, but only 120 houses were actually allocated. He alleged that the remaining houses had been diverted to people with no connection to the constituency and claimed that names of outsiders were included in the beneficiary list.

Nagender also criticised the Housing Board MD over his responses during a review involving the Speaker, describing them as irresponsible. He said that, had he been in the Speaker’s position, he would have sought disciplinary action against the official.

The MLA said repeated questions to officials had failed to produce satisfactory answers. He warned that he would bring the matter to the notice of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and, if required, raise it in the Telangana Assembly to seek accountability from the government.

In sharp remarks, Nagender said officials may be transferred or replaced, but local elected representatives remain answerable to the people of their constituencies. He warned that continued disregard for their concerns could escalate the situation.

Referring to his past confrontation with government officials, for which he said he had even gone to jail, Nagender made controversial remarks about taking a more aggressive approach if officials continued to ignore elected representatives. He demanded a review of the Indiramma housing allocations and called for justice for eligible local beneficiaries in Khairatabad.
