Andhra Pradesh is emerging as a favourable destination for investments and industrial development, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said, urging industrialists to look beyond profits and contribute to the country's economic progress and public welfare. He said the government’s priority was to ensure that industrial investments generate tangible benefits for the state and its people.

Addressing a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) regional conference at JNTU, Kakinada, he said the coalition government was accelerating industrial approvals and incentives to attract investors. Criticising the previous administration, he alleged that entrepreneurs had faced an unfavourable investment climate and demands for personal benefits.

Highlighting Kakinada's industrial potential, Pawan Kalyan announced investment proposals worth ₹6,347 crore, expected to generate approximately 18,000 jobs. He said 16 memoranda of understanding involved investments of ₹4,652 crore, while foundation stones were laid for four projects valued at ₹2,090 crore.

He stated that Andhra Pradesh had attracted 714 projects worth ₹22.6 lakh crore since June 2024 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Of these, projects worth ₹16.6 lakh crore had received approvals, while investments worth ₹4.7 lakh crore had reached the implementation stage. The projects could generate 7.1 lakh employment opportunities.

Citing Singapore and Switzerland as development models, he urged industries to prioritise social responsibility alongside profitability. Recalling Jamsetji Tata's contribution to nation-building, he encouraged companies to support communities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and employment-oriented skill development.

Referring to Andhra Pradesh's 1,053-kilometre coastline, he identified maritime industries, shipbuilding, green hydrogen, food processing and aquaculture as promising sectors. However, he stressed that industrial expansion must protect coastal biodiversity and maintain environmental sustainability.

He also encouraged investments in rural and tribal regions, highlighting infrastructure improvements under Palle Panduga and Adivi Thalli Bata programmes. He said development should extend beyond urban centres and benefit local communities, particularly fishing families and tribal populations.

Calling for greater industry participation in the state's reconstruction, Pawan Kalyan emphasised inclusive growth, employment generation and environmental protection as essential pillars of sustainable development.
