Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-awaited period action drama 'Ranabaali' appears to be heading for a change in its theatrical release date. The film was originally scheduled to arrive in cinemas on September 11, 2026, but the slot has now been taken by Vijay’s younger brother Anand Deverakonda’s upcoming film 'Epic: First Semester'.

The makers of 'Epic: First Semester', directed by Aditya Haasan and starring Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya, officially announced September 11 as its worldwide theatrical release date. This effectively puts the two Deverakonda brothers on a potential box-office collision course.

Amid the development, recent reports indicate that 'Ranabaali' is being planned for a new release date of October 30, 2026. A report published on August 10 stated that the makers are working towards the October 30 date and are looking to keep the film on schedule. However, the new date has not yet been formally announced by the filmmakers, making it important to treat October 30 as a reported date for now.

The delay also comes against the backdrop of the film’s ongoing production. Rashmika Mandanna recently suffered an injury while shooting for another project, 'Mysaa', reportedly affecting the schedules of both films. She has been undergoing recovery and is expected to return to the sets as the team works to complete her portions.

Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, 'Ranabaali' is set in 19th-century India and draws inspiration from real historical events spanning 1854 to 1878. Vijay plays the titular rebel figure, while Rashmika portrays Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector. The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, with T-Series presenting it.

Vijay has also undergone extensive preparation for the role, including horse riding, knife combat, firearm drills and physical training to portray the freedom fighter convincingly.

'Ranabaali' is particularly anticipated because it marks Vijay and Rashmika’s third on-screen collaboration, following 'Geetha Govindam' and 'Dear Comrade'. Their return together has generated considerable interest among fans.

For now, October 30, 2026 remains the reported new release date, while an official confirmation from the 'Ranabaali' team is awaited.
