
Jana Sena Bets on Lingamaneni Ramesh for Rajya Sabha Seat
The Jana Sena Party has nominated industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh , party chief and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced on Saturday.
Ramesh filed his nomination papers at the State Assembly with the support of NDA alliance legislators. His candidature was endorsed by six Jana Sena MLAs, three Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs and one BJP MLA. State Minister Kollu Ravindra, MLC Nagababu and several party legislators were present during the filing.
A long-time associate of Pawan Kalyan, Ramesh has been with Jana Sena since 2015. Party leaders said his nomination reflects his commitment to the organisation and his role in strengthening the party through both growth phases and electoral setbacks.
The NDA alliance has finalised its seat-sharing arrangement for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with the TDP contesting three of the four seats from Andhra Pradesh and Jana Sena fielding a candidate for the remaining seat.
To showcase the coalition government's achievements, the alliance will hold major public meetings across the state. Events are scheduled in Tirupati on June 9, Amaravati on June 12 and Visakhapatnam on June 15, focusing on welfare , governance and development . Additional district-level outreach programmes will be conducted between June 13 and June 20.
The Rajya Sabha elections are part of the biennial polls for 24 seats nationwide. Nominations are currently being accepted, with scrutiny scheduled for June 9 and withdrawals allowed until June 11. Polling and counting will take place on June 18, and the results will be announced the same day.
