Jio Platforms Posts 13.7% Profit Growth in First Results After Blockbuster IPO, Subscriber Base Hits 54.24 Cr
Jio Platforms reported a 13.7 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 8,389 crore for the September 2026 quarter, as subscriber additions, higher spending per user and strong growth in digital services boosted its financial performance. The results mark the company's first earnings announcement since its blockbuster stock market debut earlier this week.
The company's revenue from operations rose 11.4 per cent to Rs 40,475 crore, compared with the corresponding quarter last year. On a sequential basis, net profit increased 8 per cent from Rs 7,765 crore in the June quarter, while revenue grew 3.3 per cent from Rs 39,173 crore.
Operating performance also improved, with EBITDA rising 16.6 per cent to Rs 21,879 crore. Its EBITDA margin expanded by 250 basis points to 54.1 per cent, reflecting stronger operating profitability.
Subscriber growth and higher average revenue per user (ARPU) remained key drivers. Jio's total subscriber base increased 7.1 per cent to 54.24 crore, up from 50.64 crore a year earlier. The company added 91 lakh subscribers during the September quarter.
Monthly ARPU climbed to Rs 218.8, compared with Rs 211.4 in the year-ago quarter and Rs 215.6 in the previous quarter. Average monthly data consumption per user also increased 14.2 per cent to 44.2 GB.
Jio crossed the 30-crore 5G subscriber milestone, adding 6.6 crore 5G users over the past 12 months. 5G accounted for nearly 56 per cent of its total wireless traffic. Meanwhile, its fixed broadband subscriber base reached 3 crore, supported by Jio AirFiber, which had 1.51 crore subscribers and contributed more than 75 per cent of fixed broadband additions over the past year.
Revenue from connectivity services grew 11 per cent, while digital services recorded 16 per cent growth. Overall data traffic surged 22.1 per cent year-on-year to 71.3 billion GB.
The earnings announcement follows Jio Platforms' Rs 30,188-crore IPO, which saw its shares close nearly 27 per cent above the issue price of Rs 1,119 on their market debut. The company said Rs 27,500 crore raised through the offering had been used to prepay certain external commercial borrowings of its subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm.
