Jr NTR–Trivikram God of War Faces Online Debate Over Poster and ‘Born in North’ Tag

Jr NTR’s much-awaited reunion with director Trivikram Srinivas has already found itself in the middle of online discussions, even before going on floors. Tentatively titled God of War , the mythological drama is said to revolve around Lord Muruga , and its announcement poster initially generated strong buzz across social media.

The film was officially announced recently, creating excitement among fans eager to see the actor–director duo collaborate once again. However, the promotional material soon sparked a wave of debate online, shifting attention from anticipation to controversy.

One of the main points of discussion is the phrase “Born in North” featured in the announcement poster. A section of social media users, particularly from Tamil Nadu , expressed objection to the wording, arguing that it does not align with their cultural and traditional beliefs associated with Lord Muruga. At the same time, another group defended the makers, stating that divinity cannot be geographically restricted and should be viewed in a broader spiritual context.

Adding to the chatter, some users also claimed that the announcement poster appears to be AI generated , questioning the choice of using artificial intelligence for a high-profile mythological project. However, these claims remain unverified online speculation, with no official response from the filmmakers regarding either of the concerns.

Despite the ongoing discussions, the team behind the project has so far maintained silence. Industry observers note that controversies surrounding big-budget mythological films are not uncommon, especially in the age of social media where early promotional content is heavily scrutinised.

God of War is being produced by Haarika & Hassine Creations in association with NTR Arts , with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander .
