Kamal Haasan Heads to Hyderabad for 'Kalki 2898 AD' Sequel and Chiranjeevi’s 'MEGAVerse'

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is reportedly heading to Hyderabad for the next shooting schedule of 'Kalki 2898 AD Part 2', while his reported appearance on Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Netflix talk show, 'MEGAVerse', has also generated interest among fans.

The sequel to the 2024 science-fiction blockbuster 'Kalki 2898 AD' features Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. Haasan plays Supreme Yaskin, whose conflict with Prabhas’s character, Bhairava, is expected to be a major element of the film’s narrative. Director Nag Ashwin has indicated that production would gather pace during October 2026, with reports suggesting a possible wrap by mid-2027 and a potential 2028 release. The production schedule and release timeline have not been independently confirmed.

Meanwhile, Haasan’s reported visit coincides with growing buzz around 'MEGAVerse', Chiranjeevi’s upcoming Netflix talk show. The veteran Tamil actor is reportedly expected to join Chiranjeevi for an episode, although neither Netflix nor the show’s makers have officially confirmed his participation.

The show is expected to explore Chiranjeevi’s five-decade journey in cinema, his personal life and political experiences. Reports have also mentioned comedians Brahmanandam, Sunil and Satya as possible guests for the opening episode. A December 2026 premiere and a first season comprising around 12–15 episodes have been discussed, but these details remain unconfirmed.

The entertainment buzz also coincides with the 43rd anniversary of Chiranjeevi’s 'Khaidi', released on October 28, 1983. Directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy, the action film drew inspiration from 'First Blood' and helped establish Chiranjeevi as a leading action star in Telugu cinema.

Recent photographs of Haasan travelling to Hyderabad and images featuring him alongside Chiranjeevi have further fuelled speculation about their meeting. With the 'Kalki 2898 AD' sequel and 'MEGAVerse' attracting attention, the actor’s reported Hyderabad visit has become a talking point among cinema enthusiasts. However, the details of his participation in the talk show remain unconfirmed.
