Karnataka CM Directs Formation of Panchayat-Level Panels for Guarantee Schemes
Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Wednesday directed the formation of guarantee implementation committees at the panchayat level, asking members to maintain close contact with beneficiaries and ensure effective delivery of the state government's five guarantee schemes.
Shivakumar issued the directions after launching the dashboard and social media platforms of the State Guarantee Implementation Committee. He stressed the need to strengthen public outreach and counter misinformation about the schemes. According to a statement from his office, the chief minister asked committee members to regularly share information about the schemes and feedback from beneficiaries on social media platforms to address misinformation and propaganda.
He also directed members to visit beneficiaries' homes and put up ‘Guarantee Mane’ (Guarantee Home) stickers to improve awareness about the benefits provided by the government. They were asked to explain the schemes to beneficiaries and make effective use of social media at all levels.
State Guarantee Implementation Committee chairman H M Revanna said the newly launched dashboard would provide detailed information on government expenditure under the guarantee schemes, including district-wise and taluk-wise data. The platform will also provide access to government orders related to the schemes, contact details of officials and a repository of success stories, he said.
Revanna further announced plans to develop a platform called ‘Guarantee Katte’ to facilitate interaction between committee members and beneficiaries, enabling them to exchange views on the implementation of the schemes.
The guarantee implementation committees are multi-tier advisory and monitoring bodies established by the state government to oversee and support the execution of its five flagship programmes Anna Bhagya, Shakti, Gruha Jyothi, Gruha Lakshmi and Yuva Nidhi.
The latest directions aim to strengthen grassroots-level engagement and improve the flow of information between the government, committee members and beneficiaries.
