Karnataka Govt’s 100-Day Milestone to Highlight Five Guarantee Schemes

The Karnataka government led by Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will complete 100 days in office on Thursday, with the state government set to mark the occasion with a special programme at Vidhana Soudha here.

The event, titled “Dhruda Karnataka Sankalpa -- Shatakada Patha, Pragatiya Ratha” (Resolve for a Strong Karnataka – Path of a Century, Chariot of Progress), will highlight the government's welfare initiatives and development agenda, according to an official press release.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the programme, while Shivakumar will preside over the event. Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, all state Cabinet ministers, legislators, Members of Parliament from both Houses, Legislative Council members and senior government officials are expected to attend.

Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh will also be present at the programme.

Beneficiaries of the government's five major guarantee schemes Anna Bhagya, Gruha Lakshmi, Shakti, Yuva Nidhi and Gruha Jyothi will participate in the event along with workers and representatives from various sections of society.

The beneficiaries include farmers, auto-rickshaw drivers, porters, gig workers, street vendors, ASHA workers, anganwadi workers and civic sanitation workers.

According to the release, Shivakumar will directly interact with beneficiaries and hear about the impact of the government's welfare measures on their lives. The interaction will also focus on the state's future development and the government's priorities going forward.

The programme is expected to showcase the government's work during its first 100 days and underline its commitment to welfare and development.

Shivakumar was sworn in as Chief Minister on June 3, after Siddaramaiah resigned from the post on May 28 following directions from the Congress high command.

The 100-day milestone comes as the government seeks to highlight the implementation of its flagship welfare guarantees while engaging directly with beneficiaries from across Karnataka.
