Katrina Kaif in Talks for Spirit Cameo? Prabhas Film Could Mark Her Tollywood Return After 11 Years
Prabhas' upcoming action drama Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, continues to generate significant anticipation, with the filmmaker confirming that around 40% of the film's shooting has been completed. The update, shared during the Telugu Talent Association (TTA) convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, comes amid speculation over the film's casting and reaffirms that the multilingual theatrical release remains on schedule for March 5, 2027.
According to recent media reports, Katrina Kaif has been approached for a special cameo in the film. The actress is said to be positively inclined towards the offer but has reportedly sought certain scheduling accommodations as she is currently caring for her toddler. However, industry reports remain divided over the development. While several publications claim discussions are underway, another report has quoted a source dismissing the speculation as "completely inaccurate and misleading." Neither Katrina Kaif nor the makers have issued an official confirmation.
If the casting materialises, it would mark Katrina Kaif's return to Telugu cinema after an 11-year gap, having previously appeared in films such as Malliswari and Allari Pidugu. The reported cameo follows major casting changes in the project after Triptii Dimri replaced Deepika Padukone as the female lead earlier this year.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit features Prabhas in the role of a fierce police officer. The cast also includes Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Desai, Kanchana, and others. Produced by T-Series in association with Bhadrakali Pictures, the film has music by Harshavardhan Rameshwar and is positioned as one of India's biggest theatrical releases of 2027.
