KCR To Strategise With BRS Legislators Ahead Of Telangana Assembly Session

Ahead of the Telangana Legislative Assembly session beginning on September 7, BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has called a joint meeting of the party’s legislators to finalise its strategy for the upcoming proceedings.

The BRS Legislature Party (BRSLP) meeting will be held on September 6 at KCR’s residence in Erravelli. BRS MLAs and MLCs will first attend a lunch at 1 pm, followed by the formal meeting at 2 pm under KCR’s leadership.

The meeting is expected to focus on the issues the BRS should raise during the Assembly session and the strategy to be adopted while taking on the Congress government. Party legislators are likely to discuss key public concerns, government decisions and matters that could be used to put the ruling dispensation on the defensive.

KCR has directed all BRS MLAs and MLCs to attend the meeting, underscoring the importance the party is attaching to the upcoming session.

The Assembly proceedings are expected to assume greater political significance amid the latest developments in Telangana. The Congress government is also approaching the 1,000-day mark in office, providing the opposition with an opportunity to intensify its scrutiny of the administration.

The implementation of election promises, the government’s performance and its handling of various public issues are expected to figure prominently in the opposition’s campaign inside the House. The BRS is likely to use the session to question the government on its commitments and seek accountability on issues affecting people across the state.
