Kejriwal Lands in Goa, Signals AAP Push for 2027 Assembly Polls
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal arrived in Goa on Monday for a three-day visit that is expected to focus on strengthening the party’s organisation and sharpening its political campaign ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
Kejriwal was received at Dabolim Airport by senior party leaders, including Atishi , Goa MLA Capt Venzy Viegas , state leaders and party workers, who gave him a warm welcome. Social media posts and local reports showed enthusiastic supporters gathering to greet the former Delhi chief minister upon his arrival.
While the AAP has not officially released a detailed itinerary, party sources said Kejriwal is expected to interact with the media and address several issues concerning the BJP-ruled Goa , including governance, public services and matters affecting residents of the coastal state.
The visit comes at a time when the AAP is attempting to expand its footprint in Goa, one of the few states outside Delhi and Punjab where it has secured representation in the Assembly. In the 2022 Goa elections, the party won two seats, with Capt Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva entering the Assembly, marking a breakthrough for AAP in the state.
Political observers view Kejriwal’s visit as part of the party’s early groundwork for the 2027 elections, as it seeks to position itself as an alternative to both the BJP and Congress. Party workers are also expected to hold meetings and outreach programmes during the visit aimed at strengthening grassroots support across Goa.
