The investigation into the Ketan Agarwal murder case has taken a crucial turn after police recovered an alleged Snapchat message sent by the prime accused, Siya Goyal , weeks before the Pune based realtor's death. Investigators believe the message could provide fresh insight into the events leading up to the alleged murder and are now verifying its authenticity while expanding the scope of the probe.

According to police, the message was purportedly sent in May , nearly a month before Ketan Agarwal (25) was allegedly murdered on June 15 . In the conversation, Siya Goyal (20) allegedly asked one of her friends to send copies of her Aadhaar card for booking travel tickets to Udaipur , where her wedding with Ketan was scheduled to take place in November . However, the message also carried a startling statement suggesting that the marriage would never happen.

The alleged message read: "Send your Aadhaar card front and back side photo for tickets for the wedding, which is anyway not going to take place, but still do send it." Police are now questioning whether the message was merely a personal remark or an indication that the accused had already planned the crime.

Investigators will question the friend who received the message to determine whether she had any prior knowledge of the alleged conspiracy. Police officials said they are first verifying the authenticity of the Snapchat communication before treating it as evidence in the case.

The message has gained significance because Ketan's family had already begun wedding preparations . They had reportedly started making travel arrangements for relatives and friends and had requested names and Aadhaar details of guests from Siya Goyal's family to facilitate ticket bookings.

Police allege that Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary (22) , murdered Ketan by pushing him into a gorge at Lohgad Fort in Pune district on June 15 . Both were arrested last month and remain in police custody as the investigation continues.

Meanwhile, the Agarwal family suffered another heartbreaking loss on Saturday evening when Ketan's grandfather, Devichand Agarwal (71) , died of a cardiac arrest at a city hospital. Family sources said he had been undergoing treatment for the past few days.

With investigators examining digital evidence alongside witness statements and other material, the alleged Snapchat message has emerged as a potentially significant clue that could help establish the sequence of events and the motive behind one of Maharashtra's most closely watched murder investigations.
