Khammam Aces Stumble in Death Overs as Warangal Warriors Win by 5 Wickets in TG20

Warangal Warriors pulled off a thrilling five-wicket win over Anvita Khammam Aces in the 6th match of the TG20 League at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal , chasing down a stiff 203 with seven balls to spare. The result handed the Warriors their first victory of the season.

The story of the match was opener Harshit Choudhary , who carried his bat through the entire chase for an unbeaten 121 off 62 balls , an innings laced with clean hitting that steadied the Warriors after a tricky start. He survived a dropped catch on 32 in the fourth over, a moment that proved pivotal, and went on to anchor the innings as Warangal cruised home at 208/5 .

Earlier, the Aces had posted a competitive 202 thanks to contributions across the order. Mayank Gupta top-scored with 54 off 36 balls , while Mickil Jaiswal blitzed an even quicker 54 off 22 deliveries , studded with seven sixes. The duo added a key stand after Wafi Kachchhi ’s bright start, which included back-to-back sixes off Mohd. Abdul Malik in just the second over. Himateja Kodimela (23) and Prateek Reddy (20) also chipped in, but a middle-order collapse saw the Aces lose six wickets for just 27 runs in the closing stages, restricting their final total.

With the ball, Abdul Malik and Murugan Abhishek were the pick of the Warriors' bowlers, each finishing with three wickets, while Pallepati Kranthi and Mudassar offered support with the remaining wickets.

Despite the loss, the Aces' top-order fireworks ensured the contest produced over 400 runs across both innings, making it one of the most entertaining games of the young TG20 season . For the Warriors, Choudhary’s match-winning knock has now firmly put the team on the board, while the Aces will look to regroup before their next outing.
