Kiran Abbavaram Announces ‘Indraputra’, Mythological Pan India Film Set For 2027
Kiran Abbavaram is coming off the success of Chennai Love Story and is now set to enter the world of mythology with his upcoming pan-India film Indraputra. Zee Studios and producer Prerna Arora officially announced the title on August 9.
Indraputra is described as a mythological action fantasy and will mark Kiran’s first pan-India project in this space. Newcomer Srikanth Puppala is directing the film. He earlier worked as the first assistant director on Kantara: Chapter 1. The film will also mark his feature directorial debut.
The makers are currently working on the film’s pre-production. Shooting is scheduled to begin in October 2026, while the film is planned for a 2027 release.
Indraputra is being presented as the first chapter of a larger mythological saga. The makers are planning to build a wider mythology-based world through the project. However, they have not yet revealed which particular mythological story, text or tradition forms the base of the film.
The film is being produced by Zee Studios and Prerna Arora, with Keerthan and Kussum Arora serving as co-producers. Details about the rest of the cast, technical team, budget and exact release date are still under wraps.
For Kiran, the project comes at an interesting point in his career. After working mainly in Telugu cinema, he is now stepping into a larger-scale story aimed at audiences across India.
The makers are expected to reveal more about the cast and story in the coming months. With filming set to begin in October, Indraputra could become one of Kiran Abbavaram’s biggest projects yet.
