Kishan Reddy Reviews Alampur Projects, Urges Faster Completion of Pending Works

Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Monday called for faster completion of pending infrastructure projects in Alampur, saying the Centre was giving priority to the development of the historic temple town and the revered Jogulamba Shakti Peetham.

During a visit to the Alampur Jogulamba Railway Station, which is being redeveloped at a cost of Rs 6.07 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the Union Minister reviewed the progress of the ongoing works. He inspected information boards displaying nearby tourist attractions, interacted with the operators of the One Station, One Product stall, and spoke with passengers at the ticket counter to understand their concerns.

Addressing the media later, Kishan Reddy said the Ministry of Tourism had already sanctioned Rs 37 crore for the development of the Jogulamba temple. Additional conservation and development works were also being undertaken with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), he said.

While Central funds were being provided for Alampur's development, some key projects, including the bus stand, bridge and road works, were still pending, Kishan Reddy noted. He urged officials to coordinate with the Telangana government and district administration to ensure that the remaining works were completed without delay.

He stressed the need to improve essential facilities such as roads, parking, drinking water, sanitation and transport, particularly in view of the large number of devotees and tourists visiting Jogulamba from across India and abroad.

On railway infrastructure, Kishan Reddy said the Centre was modernising 42 railway stations across Telangana, with the projects targeted for completion by 2027. He said nearly 95 per cent of the redevelopment work at the Alampur Jogulamba Railway Station had been completed.

The remaining works would be expedited, with efforts underway to have the upgraded station inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said.

The station is being developed to reflect the spiritual significance of Jogulamba Amma and the heritage of the Alampur Shakti Peetham. Once completed, it is expected to improve connectivity for devotees and local residents travelling to Hyderabad, Kurnool and other destinations.

Kishan Reddy also said railway capacity across Telangana was being expanded through the conversion of single lines into double lines, double lines into triple lines, and the development of four-track corridors where required.

Mahabubnagar MP D.K. Aruna, Alampur MLA Vijayaudu, Hyderabad Division DRM Santosh Kumar Verma, District Collector Rizwan Basha Shaik, SP Srinivasa Rao, and other public representatives and officials attended the programme.
