Knight Fever: Gaurav-Nitish Blitz Powers Nalgonda Knights to 91-Run Rout of Warangal Warriors

Anurag Nalgonda Knights turned Friday's Match 10 of the Sreenidhi University TG20 into a one sided demolition at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, routing Warangal Warriors by 91 runs to emphatically announce themselves as title contenders in Telangana's inaugural franchise T20 league.

Put in to bat, the Knights lost Pranav Suryadevara cheaply in the very first over to Md. Abdul Malik, offering the Warriors an early lifeline that they would never be allowed to pull on again. What followed was a batting exhibition of the highest order. Gaurav Reddy and Nitish Reddy , no relation but devastating in tandem, combined for a 143 run partnership that sucked the contest dry. Gaurav blazed his way to 81 off 33 balls , a knock of relentless aggression, before Mudassar Hussain removed him in the 12th over. Nitish, showing slightly more restraint but no less intent, contributed 80 off 42 balls . The two Reddys nearly dismantled the Warriors' attack single handedly. The Knights finished on 259/5 in 20 overs , the joint highest team total of the tournament, with Abdul Malik ending with 2/51, the lone Warriors bowler to take more than one wicket.

Chasing 260, the Warriors never got a foothold. Nishanth Saranu led the bowling charge with 3/42 , and the Knights were relentless in the field. Aman Rao (46) and Murugan Abhishek (44) offered resistance, but their efforts amounted to little more than cosmetic repair. The Warriors were bundled out for 168 in 14 overs , the innings collapsing far too quickly for any hope of a late revival.

The result pushes the Knights higher in the TG20 standings and sends a sharp message to the rest of the eight team field: on their day, this batting unit is capable of blowing any attack apart.
