Konda Surekha Reviews Warangal Dussehra, Bathukamma Celebration Arrangements
MLA Konda Surekha reviewed arrangements for the upcoming Dussehra celebrations, Ravana Dahan and Saddula Bathukamma festivities in Warangal and emphasised the need for coordinated efforts to ensure that the celebrations are conducted peacefully and without inconvenience to the public.
A review meeting was held to discuss the preparations for the festivities, which are expected to draw large crowds, particularly women participating in the Saddula Bathukamma celebrations. During the meeting, Surekha stressed the importance of making comprehensive arrangements in advance to manage the expected rush and ensure a smooth experience for visitors.
The discussions focused on several key aspects of the preparations, including security, crowd management and barricading. Given the large number of people likely to attend the celebrations, special attention was sought for regulating the movement of crowds and preventing overcrowding at venues.
Arrangements for essential public amenities were also reviewed. These include drinking water, electricity, sanitation and medical facilities. Adequate access to these services will be important throughout the celebrations, particularly as large gatherings are expected at different locations in the city.
Parking and traffic management were also identified as important areas requiring attention. With increased movement of vehicles during the festivities, effective traffic regulation and sufficient parking arrangements will be necessary to minimise congestion and avoid inconvenience to the public.
Surekha stressed the importance of continuous ground-level monitoring during the celebrations. She said officials from the concerned departments should remain alert and address any issues that arise promptly so that visitors can participate in the festivities safely.
She also emphasised that public safety should remain the top priority while conducting the Dussehra and Bathukamma celebrations. Coordinated efforts among the departments concerned were discussed to ensure that the festivities pass off peacefully and in an orderly manner.
The review meeting was attended by District Collector Satya Sarada, Police Commissioner N. Swetha, Municipal Commissioner T. Venkanna, members of the festival committee and officials from various departments. The officials discussed the arrangements required to accommodate the expected crowds and ensure that essential services remain available throughout the celebrations.
