KSRTC to Launch AI-Powered WhatsApp Ticketing System, Boost Digital Public Transport Services

The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is set to take a major step towards digital transformation in public transport with the launch of an AI-powered WhatsApp ticketing system, enabling passengers to book tickets quickly and conveniently through the popular messaging platform.

The new facility, which aims to simplify ticket booking and improve the overall travel experience, will be officially inaugurated by Kerala Transport Minister C. P. John on August 6 at a function in Thiruvananthapuram, according to an official statement issued on Wednesday.

The introduction of the AI-powered WhatsApp ticketing system is part of KSRTC's digital travel services initiative, reflecting the corporation's efforts to modernise passenger services through technology. By allowing commuters to reserve tickets directly via WhatsApp, the initiative is expected to make public transport more accessible, efficient and user-friendly.

Alongside the ticketing platform, the minister will also inaugurate KSRTC's upgraded 24x7 customer care toll-free service (149), designed to provide round-the-clock assistance to passengers. A revamped courier service will also be launched as part of the corporation's expanding range of digital and customer-centric services.

The event will additionally recognise excellence within the organisation, with state-level awards to be presented to KSRTC employees and operational units for their outstanding performance and contributions.

Kerala Health and Devaswom Minister K. Muraleedharan will preside over the function, while KSRTC Chairman and Managing Director Pramoj Shankar will present a report outlining the corporation's latest initiatives and ongoing efforts to strengthen public transport through innovation and improved service delivery.

The launch underscores KSRTC's commitment to leveraging technology to modernise public transportation, enhance passenger convenience and deliver more efficient, digitally enabled services across the state.
