BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana, accusing it of pursuing anti-poor policies and attempting to displace vulnerable communities under the guise of development projects.

Addressing a BRS workers' meeting in Rajendranagar and participating in the party's "Basti Bata" outreach programme at Hanuman Nagar, KTR alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's administration was more focused on demolitions than on fulfilling its promises to the people.

He criticised the government over its handling of the Musi River redevelopment project , claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy were working together to facilitate what he described as a large-scale land grab. According to KTR, poor families were being forced to bear the consequences while the BJP was extending support to the state government's actions.

The former minister questioned the government's priorities, arguing that despite repeatedly citing financial constraints in implementing election promises, it was willing to spend massive amounts on the Musi project. He alleged that the initiative was being driven by vested interests rather than public welfare.

During his interaction with residents of Hanuman Nagar, KTR said locals had expressed concerns over attempts to revoke land ownership documents issued during the previous BRS government and fears of losing their homes.

He contended that the settlement is located several kilometres away from the Musi River and accused the government of creating unnecessary panic among residents. KTR alleged that authorities were selectively targeting economically weaker sections while ignoring influential groups.

The BRS leader also criticised MLA Prakash Goud , who was elected on a BRS ticket before joining the Congress, alleging that he had failed to deliver development works in the constituency and was instead intimidating residents.

Maintaining that the BRS remained strong despite defections, KTR urged party workers to stay united and continue engaging with the public. He assured residents that the party would stand by them and protect their housing rights if it returned to power.

Former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy , Swamy Goud, Karthik Reddy and other party leaders attended the programmes.
