KTR calls Revanth Reddy the ‘Leader of the Dandupalya Gang’

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a scathing attack on the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that the state is being run not by a government, but by what he described as a “Dandupalya gang” led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

KTR accused the Congress leadership of being deeply involved in corruption and illegal activities, claiming that senior government officials are under immense pressure from political leaders. He warned that the atmosphere of intimidation has even forced some IAS and IPS officers to consider early retirement or transfers.

According to KTR, several senior IAS officers have been distancing themselves from the administration to avoid being dragged into alleged “share deals” and illegal decisions made by Congress leaders. He cited the recent voluntary retirement (VRS) application of senior IAS officer Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi as an example of how political pressure is affecting top officials.

“The kind of coercion and interference Congress leaders are exerting on bureaucrats is unprecedented,” KTR said, adding that the Revanth Reddy-led government has lost the trust of both officials and the public.

Warning to bureaucrats

KTR issued a stern warning to government officers, urging them not to become complicit in the Congress party’s irregularities and unlawful acts. “Those who support these illegal activities today will have to face serious consequences in the future,” he cautioned, referring to past instances where officials faced punishment after regime changes.

He criticized the Congress administration for its lack of transparency and accused it of functioning solely to benefit the Chief Minister and his close associates. KTR demanded that the government immediately put an end to political interference and corruption in the bureaucracy.

The Rizvi controversy

Senior IAS officer Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi, who served as the Principal Secretary of the Excise Department, applied for voluntary retirement on October 22, 2025. The government accepted his VRS request, effective October 31, 2025.

Minister Jupally, in turn, filed a complaint against Rizvi, alleging that the officer had deliberately delayed files and ignored official directives.

Political fallout

The controversy has stirred political tensions across Telangana. Opposition leaders, including KTR, are using Rizvi’s resignation to highlight what they call “rampant corruption and political interference” under the Congress government.

Political analysts say the incident underscores growing friction between the bureaucracy and political leadership, and warn that the government must act quickly to restore administrative integrity and public confidence.
