KTR Seeks White Paper On 8,000 Acres, Demands Answers From Revanth Reddy

BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has written an open letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, seeking clear answers on land allegations and several pending issues in Sircilla ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit to the district.

KTR said Revanth Reddy was visiting Sircilla for the first time in nearly three years since the Congress government came to power and urged him to address concerns related to land, handloom workers, farmers, irrigation, industries, education, healthcare and welfare.

On the allegation that BRS leaders had misappropriated 8,000 acres of government land, KTR sought details of the alleged irregularities. He asked the government to identify the mandals, villages, survey numbers and beneficiaries involved, including details of the 2,400 acres it claimed to have recovered. KTR said only 1,272 acres had been distributed in Rajanna-Sircilla district between 2014 and December 2023, including 204 acres in Sircilla constituency. He demanded a white paper on the allegations.

On the textile sector, KTR said government orders for Bathukamma sarees, school uniforms and welfare programmes had provided regular employment to powerloom workers. He cited orders worth ₹3,313 crore for 100 crore metres of fabric and claimed workers earned ₹15,000–₹20,000 a month. He alleged that the discontinuation of the Bathukamma saree scheme affected employment and said ₹60 crore in dues remained unpaid. He also sought restoration of the 10% yarn subsidy, a ₹5 lakh insurance scheme and completion of the Apparel and Weaving Parks.

KTR sought clarity on Congress promises of ₹15,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa, tenant-farmer assistance and the ₹2 lakh loan waiver. On irrigation, he asked when water would be moved from Malkapet reservoir to Upper Manair and when funds would be released for distributary canals.

He also demanded development of the proposed Aqua Hub and Food Processing Zone, funding for JNTU Engineering College and clearance of pending Mana Ooru–Mana Badi bills. In healthcare, he sought details of future funding and expansion plans for Sircilla District Hospital.

On welfare, KTR sought timelines for increased pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi benefits, fee reimbursement, new pensions and assistance for auto drivers. He also demanded payment of 33 months of pending dues claimed for pensioners and beedi workers and sought implementation details of the promised ₹2,500 monthly assistance for women.

KTR urged the government to release a comprehensive white paper on Sircilla’s development and provide specific timelines for its pending commitments.
