KTR Warns Cadre Against Revanth Reddy’s Verbal Provocations

Telangana Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday urged party cadres and the people of Telangana not to get drawn into what he described as Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s verbal provocations , and instead focus squarely on public issues ahead of the upcoming municipal elections .

Addressing the campaign for the Vemulawada municipal elections , KTR said political discourse was increasingly being diverted towards personal and abusive language , which, he alleged, was aimed at distracting attention from governance failures . He advised party workers to take the Congress government’s shortcomings and unfulfilled election promises directly to the people.

KTR accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of resorting to personal attacks on former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to deflect criticism of his own administration. “This is not merely an attack on an individual but an attack on the history of the Telangana movement ,” he said, asserting that KCR, who led a 14-year struggle for statehood , would continue to command public respect for his role in Telangana’s formation and development .

Stressing that municipal elections must centre on local governance , KTR instructed party cadres to engage voters on civic issues such as roads, drainage, basic amenities , and the implementation of welfare schemes . He also called on them to question the government over fertiliser shortages , delays in Rythu Bandhu assistance , fee reimbursements , and incidents reported in gurukul institutions .

He further pointed to the concerns of senior citizens awaiting retirement benefits , government employees seeking DA and PRC revisions , and issues related to the Singareni and power sectors , as well as water-sharing matters , urging that these be brought into public debate.

KTR said the people’s verdict in the municipal elections would be the true measure of accountability , adding that questioning those in power was essential to safeguarding democratic values .
