Liverpool, Telangana Explore Strategic Partnership In Life Sciences And Sports

Liverpool is exploring a strategic partnership with Telangana across life sciences, technology, sports and the creative economy, with discussions gaining momentum during Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s visit to London.

Senior officials from Liverpool City Development, including corporate directors Susan Finnegan and Nuala Gallagher, along with representatives of Liverpool Football Club, met Revanth Reddy to discuss areas of potential collaboration. According to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office, Liverpool has expressed interest in building a long-term partnership with the state, particularly in sectors where both sides can leverage their respective strengths.

The two sides are expected to take the discussions forward, with a Liverpool delegation scheduled to visit Hyderabad in October to work towards formalising the partnership.

Meanwhile, former Chief Secretary and government adviser K. Ramakrishna Rao held discussions with senior representatives of Imperial College London. During his meeting with Vice President for Strategic Engagement Amanda Walthuijsen and Senior International Relations Manager Rosanna Gillespie, Rao highlighted Telangana’s strengths and opportunities for institutional collaboration.

Imperial College has shown interest in offering short-term and executive education programmes in Hyderabad, besides exploring joint research initiatives and academic exchange programmes. Rao also invited the Imperial College representatives to attend the Invest Telangana Global Summit, scheduled from December 7 to 9.

The latest engagements follow Revanth Reddy’s visit to the University of Oxford on August 21, where he interacted with professors Maya Tudor and Faisal Devji. During the discussions, the Chief Minister outlined the state’s ‘Telangana Rising’ vision and sought Oxford’s support in establishing an executive education centre in Hyderabad.

The proposed collaborations underline Telangana’s efforts to strengthen its international academic, business and sporting networks while positioning Hyderabad as a global hub for education, innovation and knowledge-driven industries.
