Andhra Pradesh is aiming to attract $4 billion in investments to accelerate the growth of its space sector and advanced technology industries, with the state government actively courting global partners to support its ambitious expansion plans.

Addressing the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia, IT Minister Nara Lokesh invited leading Russian aerospace and technology companies to explore opportunities in the state. He said Andhra Pradesh has introduced Space Policy 4.0 to promote satellite manufacturing, launch systems, deep-tech innovation , and related industries.

A key component of the strategy is the proposed Tirupati Space City near Sriharikota. Planned across 3,000 acres, the facility is expected to support activities ranging from launch vehicle assembly and avionics manufacturing to research and technology development, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for space-related industries.

Lokesh highlighted Andhra Pradesh's strategic advantage as the home of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre , India's only operational spaceport. He said the state's established space infrastructure makes it an attractive destination for satellite integrators, aerospace manufacturers, and emerging space-tech companies looking to tap into India's fast-growing space economy .

The minister also promoted investment opportunities beyond the space sector, pointing to the Advanced Manufacturing Corridor in Sri Sathya Sai district near Bengaluru. The corridor is being developed to support aerospace components, drone manufacturing, naval systems, semiconductors , and other high-tech industries.

In addition, Andhra Pradesh is seeking investments in sectors such as quantum computing , semiconductor manufacturing, and advanced healthcare technologies, aligning with India's broader push for innovation-driven growth and technological self-reliance.

Emphasizing the long-standing partnership between India and Russia, Lokesh said cooperation between the two nations has evolved significantly since the launch of Aryabhata in 1975. He urged Russian companies and energy firms to build long-term partnerships with Andhra Pradesh, expanding collaboration from traditional trade into cutting-edge technology and industrial development.
