‘Love & War’: Ranbir Kapoor’s Rugged First Look Unveiled, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal Also Star

Ranbir Kapoor has made a striking entry into the world of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited Love & War, with the makers unveiling the actor’s first look from the period drama ahead of its theatrical release on January 21, 2027.

The posters released by Bhansali Productions on Thursday present Kapoor in a distinctly vintage avatar. Seated behind the wheel of a classic turquoise convertible, the actor sports slicked-back hair, a pencil moustache and round sunglasses. But the composed appearance is offset by a visibly bruised and bloodied arm, hinting at the film’s darker, war-torn setting.

The first look has offered audiences their first official glimpse into the visual world of the film, while the makers continue to keep much of the story and the characters under wraps. The posters carry the line, “Woh rutba, woh raub, woh junoon!”, adding to the aura surrounding Kapoor’s character.

Love & War brings Kapoor together with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in a period romantic drama directed and produced by Bhansali. The three actors are appearing together in a Bhansali film for the first time, with the story set against the backdrop of war. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

For Kapoor, the project marks a significant reunion with Bhansali nearly two decades after Saawariya (2007), which marked the actor’s debut. Bhatt, meanwhile, reunites with the filmmaker after their collaboration on Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Kaushal is working with Bhansali for the first time.

The first-look reveal comes shortly after the film completed its principal shoot following multiple schedules that began in November 2024. The project has now moved into the post-production phase ahead of its January 2027 release, although reports indicate that portions of the war sequences are being revisited.

With Bhansali’s elaborate period filmmaking, a three-star lead cast and a story combining romance with war, Love & War is shaping up as one of the major Hindi film releases of 2027.
