Mahakali Posters Unveil Sriya Reddy as Fierce Goddess Kali on Dussehra

The makers of Mahakali unveiled striking new posters featuring Sriya Reddy as the fierce Goddess Kali on the occasion of Dussehra, generating excitement around the upcoming mythological superhero film. Director Prasanth Varma, who gained widespread recognition with the 2024 hit Hanu-Man, shared the visuals on social media and extended festive wishes to fans.

Sriya Reddy also conveyed her Dussehra greetings, invoking Goddess Kali’s strength and highlighting the film’s themes of courage, protection and the triumph of good over evil. The posters showcase the actress in a powerful divine avatar, reflecting the goddess’s role as a destroyer of evil forces.

Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, Mahakali is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU) and is being promoted as the universe’s first female-led superhero film. The project combines Indian mythology, fantasy and superhero storytelling, with its narrative exploring the conflict between Dharma and Adharma and drawing inspiration from the world of the Asuras.

Bhoomi Shetty plays Maha, the central female superhero, while Sriya Reddy portrays the fierce divine figure associated with Goddess Kali. Akshaye Khanna appears as Shukracharya, the powerful guru of the Asuras. The promotional glimpse, titled Shukracharya’s War Cry, has also attracted attention for its dramatic presentation. Actor Rohit Saraf is another member of the cast.

Produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the RKD Studios banner, the film is among the anticipated additions to Prasanth Varma’s expanding cinematic universe following Hanu-Man.

Mahakali is scheduled for a January 8, 2027 theatrical release in multiple languages, with an IMAX presentation planned. The newly released posters have strengthened anticipation for the film’s portrayal of a powerful female superhero rooted in Indian mythology.
