Mangala Gowri First Look Unveils Rukmini Vasanth as Cop Alongside Malashree

The first look of the upcoming Kannada film Mangala Gowri has brought together two leading women from different generations of Kannada cinema, with Rukmini Vasanth and veteran actor Malashree sharing the screen in what promises to be an intriguing female-centric story.

The poster was unveiled on September 14 on the occasion of Gowri-Ganesha Habba. It features Rukmini Vasanth in a police uniform, seated on a scooter with an intense and confident expression, marking her first reported cop role. Malashree appears alongside her in a contrasting look, adding to the curiosity surrounding their characters.

The makers have revealed that Rukmini plays Gowri, a police officer, while Malashree essays the role of Mangala. However, details about their relationship and the central conflict are being kept under wraps. The film's promotional line, “Two ordinary women. One extraordinary journey,” suggests that their characters will be at the heart of the narrative.

Directed by Rahul PK, known for Sakutumba Sametha, Mangala Gowri has been written by Rahul PK and Pooja Sudhir. The project is backed by Venkat K Narayana's KVN Productions in association with filmmaker Hemanth M Rao's Dakshayani Films.

The film also marks another collaboration between Rukmini and Hemanth M Rao, who previously directed her in the acclaimed Sapta Sagaradaache Ello films. Rukmini is also associated with KVN Productions through Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.

The technical crew includes Midhun Mukundan as music composer, Srivathsan Selvarajan as cinematographer, Vishal Krishnamurthy as editor and Vikram Mor as action choreographer. The film is currently in production, with the makers yet to announce a release date, although they have confirmed that Mangala and Gowri will arrive in theatres soon.
