MP Cabinet Clears Rs 13,790 Crore Package for Infra, Agriculture and Power

The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved financial proposals worth more than Rs 13,790 crore to accelerate infrastructure development, expand irrigation and strengthen administrative services in the state.

The decisions were taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, with proposals covering sports, farmers, youth, the judiciary, power and public services.

The Cabinet gave in-principle approval for Rs 962.50 crore for the construction and operation of sports complexes in 140 Assembly constituencies. The facilities will be known as Chief Minister Sports Complexes.

More than Rs 4,000 crore was approved for the smooth functioning of High Courts, Family Courts, Gram Nyayalayas and the Legal Aid Board. The Cabinet also approved the continuation of six major schemes of the Commercial Tax Department.

In the health and administrative sectors, the Cabinet approved the creation of 13 new posts at Government Dental College, Indore. It also cleared proposals for new offices and posts of the Public Health Engineering Department in the newly formed districts of Maihar, Pandhurna and Singrauli.

The Cabinet approved the continuation of three major irrigation projects for five years from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031. These include the Rs 4,197.58-crore Jawad-Neemuch Pressurised Micro-Irrigation Project, along with the Rs 262.63-crore Suthalia project and the Rs 507.23-crore Parvati-Rinsi project in Rajgarh.

Together, the three projects are expected to provide irrigation benefits to an additional 88,000 hectares of land, according to an official.

The Cabinet also approved the procurement of 2,800 MW of thermal power through a competitive bidding process to meet the state's future electricity requirements.

The earlier approval for procurement of 900 MW of thermal power, granted in January 2025 after cancellation of the related tender, will be subsumed into the latest proposal.
